JONESBORO, Ark.-Southern Miss Soccer (1-6-4, 0-2-4 Sun Belt) earned a conference point on the road Sunday, finishing in a 2-2 draw at Arkansas State (3-4-4, 0-3-2 Sun Belt).

While the Golden Eagles held an advantage twice in the game, Arkansas State answered both goals with their own to avoid a loss at home. With the result, Southern Miss has ended in three consecutive ties for the first time in program history.

After starting goalkeeper Kesaia Bruni made back-to-back saves in goal for the Golden Eagles, an Arkansas State foul led to Southern Miss' first penalty kick of the season near the end of the first half.

Sophomore Rebeka Vega converted the attempt in the 42nd minute for her third goal of the season. Vega scored in consecutive games for the first time in her career.

Vega started the second half with another attempt on goal, which was saved by Arkansas State's Damaris Deschaine, who made four saves in the match.

The Red Wolves scored the equalizer in the 55th minute with a shot from Keelyn Peacock, assisted by Sarah Strong.

Adaira Nakano pushed the Golden Eagles back into the lead with her third goal of the season in the 68th minute, but Arkansas State's Emma Riley answered ten minutes later with the equalizer.

Southern Miss outshot Arkansas State 14-10 in the match, recording double-digit shots for the third consecutive game. Taylor Stewart led the team with four shots.

Southern Miss leads the all-time series between Arkansas State 5-0-3. The last two meetings between the programs has ended in a 2-2 result.

Eduarda Flores Fuculo made her first career start for the Golden Eagles, playing 30 minutes in the match.
