Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Collects 11 Podium Finishes at Josh Reidinger Invitational

Southern Miss wins five total events across the field
HOMEWOOD, Ala. – Four Golden Eagle athletes and a relay team won their respective events as Southern Miss posted a strong team showing in the Josh Reidinger Invitational at Shauna Yelton Field at Samford Track/Soccer Complex on Friday.
Addison McLauren won the women's 200-meter in a wind-aided 23.87 second time while Javel Fullerton led the field in the men's 400-meter hurdles (51.46 seconds) and Conner Mozee's 174-3 (53.42) heave in the discus led all athletes. Elijah Kellum took the top spot with a 45-1 (13.74) best in the triple jump.
In addition, three personal bests were set and with five other Golden Eagles posting season-bests. On the PBs, Mike Jones ran a wind-aided 10.64 (+1.5 m/s) 100-meter to place fourth; Isaiah Lowery finished sixth in the men's long jump with a mark of 22-6½ (6.87m, +1.3 m/s) with Kaylee Spencer placing seventh in the women's long jump with a mark of 18-1½ (5.52, +1.4 m/s).
Valentino Rudolph took second in the 100 meters with a 10.52 second mark (+1.5 m/s) with Mike Jones's PB of 10.64 second (+1.5 m/s) notching in at fourth, Keon Buck's season-best 10.72 seconds (+1.5 m/s) notching him seventh and closely followed by eight-place Kingsley Unorji, who ran in 10.81 seconds (+1.5 m/s).
In the women's 100 meters, Tacherria Lawson made the podium with a 11.98 second (+0.2 m/s) mark to place second while Amia Wright's 12.40 gave her sixth overall in the event. The women's 100-meter hurdles saw Sierra Edwards finish 10th overall with a wind-aided 14.73 seconds (+2.5 m/s) while Amaria Bankhead placed 12th with a wind-aided 14.94 seconds (2.5 m/s).
Rudolph took fourth in the men's 200-meter race with a 21.64 second (-0.1 m/s) mark with Buck taking 10th overall in the event from heat two with a 22.01 second (-0.4 m/s) time. On the women's 200-meters, McLaurin took the top spot with a 23.87 second mark while Kennedy Sanders set her new season-best with a 23.89 second time, both with a +1.1 m/s win aid. Amia Wright took 10th in the event, finishing in 25.24 seconds (-0.1 m/s) in heat two.
Isaiah Harper took sixth in the men's 400 meters after clocking a 49.38. Harper's time set a new season-best for the junior. On the 400 hurdles, Fullerton beat out second place by nearly two seconds with a 51.46 second mark. Thomas Sensley placed inside the top 10 with a mark of 58.14 seconds.
Conner Mozee led the field with a 175-3 foot (53.42m) mark in the men's discus throw with Chandler Taylor taking fifth overall after tossing a 149-05 foot (45.55m). Aryn Eady brought home seventh in the women's discus throw, reaching out to 137-8 feet (41.98m) on her second attempt.
In the hammer throw, Qamarion Oatis and Taylor both earned top 10 finishes with Oatis' 185-8 (56.61) finishing fifth and Taylors' 158-3 (48.23) finishing 10th. In the women's event, Eady led Southern Miss and finished third with a 162-1 (49.42) mark while Meagan Womack took seventh after her best throw of 153-11 (46.92).
In the aprons, Indea Pounds took sixth overall in the women's high jump after clearing 5-1¼ (1.56) on her first attempt. She raised two inches to 5-3¼ (1.61) but did not clear in three attempts. Kaylee Spencer took ninth with a season-best 5-1¼ (1.56) on her second attempt of the first level.
Spencer's personal best 18-1½ (5.52) in the long jump gave her seventh overall while Lowery's PB of 22-6½ (6.87) gave him sixth overall in the men's long jump. Elijah Kellum reached 22-3 (6.78) to finish eighth overall in the long jump.
Michael Kasemervisz took seventh in the shot put with a mark of 51-7¼ on his fourth attempt.
In the triple jump, Kellum used a wind-aided second attempt to reach 45-1 (13.74) and take the top spot. Lowery placed third with a 44-7 (13.59) mark on his next-to-last run.
In the relays, Southern Miss' women's 4x100-meter Relay set a season-best mark with a 45.46 mark around the oval.
