Southern Miss Men’s Track and Field Concludes Season at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Southern Miss' 2026 outdoor track and field season closes with Tyler Hughes representing the Golden Eagles at the NCAA Championships as one of the top 24 high jumpers in Division I.
Hughes and teammate Tyler Nichols both competed at this week's competitions at Hayward Field with Nichols bringing home second team All-American honors after a 12th-place finish in the men's long jump Wednesday evening. Hughes competed in the men's high jump today and finished the season with no mark at the national championship.
Southern Miss' 2026 season closes with the Golden Eagles tallying seven entries in the men's NCAA East Region First Rounds and advancing two to the national championship in Eugene. The Golden Eagle program returns for the 2027 with the women's cross country squad suiting up for the fall 2026 campaign in a few months.
