Track and Field Suits Up for UAB Green and Gold Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Track and Field prepares to head off to Birmingham, Alabama to compete at UAB's Green and Gold Invitational. The meet will take place at the Birmingham Crossplex Friday and Saturday.
Last time out, Sun Belt Men's Field Athlete of the Week Piers Cameron captured first place in the shot put with a throw of 19.03 meters, while Valentino Rudolph won the 400 meters in 47.40 seconds. Isaiah Lowrey claimed the triple jump title with a mark of 14.22 meters, while Conner Mozee won the weight throw at 19.32 meters. On the women's side, Addison McLaurin earned a win in the 400 meters (55.26) alongside Joidon Boddie's win in the Triple Jump (12.14m) and Alana Simon's victory in the high jump (1.70m).
The Golden Eagles will head to Birmingham with 45 total athletes, 22 women and 27 men. The meet consists of 26 other teams alongside Southern Miss, including Sun Belt opponent ULM and in-state opponents Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State.
Friday's events will kick off with the women's high jump in the morning, while the men's 4x400 relay will be the final event of the meet at 5:30 p.m., respectively.
