HATTIESBURG, Miss.-Southern Miss women's tennis (3-5, 0-2 Sun Belt) dropped its home match against Troy (6-5, 1-1 Sun Belt) on Sunday in a 4-1 decision.

Southern Miss' performance was highlighted by another win in singles play from Miranda Xu, who has led the Golden Eagles with six victories this season. Xu blanked Leena Metwally 6-0, 6-0 on court three to pick up the Golden Eagles' lone point Sunday.

Troy secured the early point, with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 as Hannah Chambers and Malannia Vashkevich fell 6-3 and Jordan Parker and Talia Wunnenberg dropped a 6-1 match.

While Xu had narrowed Troy's lead to 2-1, the Trojans claimed wins on court three, four and six to secure the match.
