DELAND, Fla. – Southern Miss women's tennis put together a strong two days at the 8th Annual Stetson Invite, collecting 11 victories across singles and doubles before Sunday's scheduled matches were canceled due to weather.
The Golden Eagles opened the weekend with a clean sweep in doubles, taking all three matches before adding four singles victories. Sakura Sudo, Manuella Persson, Miranda Xu and Kamornwan Kornsila each picked up wins in singles to cap a productive opening day.
Southern Miss continued to find success Saturday. Kornsila teamed with Alina Cherniaieva for a doubles victory against Stetson, while Pimmada Lim added a singles win. Cherniaieva carried that momentum into singles competition against Embry-Riddle, joining Gagana Mohan Kumar with victories to close out the day.
The weekend gave Southern Miss another strong collection of matches as the Golden Eagles continue through the final stretch of their fall schedule, with Cherniaieva and Kornsila each earning wins in both singles and doubles during the event.
