Cross Country Prepares for Southern Showcase

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—The Southern Miss Cross Country team competes for the second time this season on Friday in Huntsville.

All 10 athletes on the team's roster will compete in the 5k race at John Hunt Cross Country Park.

Last time out, all ten athletes put their best foot forward to push Southern Miss to earn first overall at the Azalea City Classic in Mobile.

Maria Kaylor finished second, while Emme Bates, Lexi Cooper, Corinne Croy and Sarah Parnell all finished in the top 10.

Last season when the Golden Eagles attended the Southern Showcase, returner Kristina Stojakovic finished at 18:42.10. Parnell wasn't far behind with a time of 18:46.90. Sylvia White finished the race behind them at 21:13.90.

Southern Miss will toe the line at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, and results will be available following the race.
