The match will mark Southern Miss' final home game of the season, where the Golden Eagles have posted a 2-2-2 record.
Southern Miss picked up its first conference win of the season Sunday with a 2-0 victory against Troy, led by senior Adaira Nakano's brace.
In her 50th career start with the Golden Eagles, Nakano recorded the second multi-goal game of her career. The Ontario, Canada native struck first in the 19th minute and then followed with her second goal in the 61st minute on an assist from a cross by junior Taylor Stewart.
Nakano's efforts helped snap Southern Miss' three-game tie streak, the longest in program history, and gave the Golden Eagles their first conference victory since a 2-1 win against Georgia State on Oct. 5, 2023 last season.
Defensively, senior goalkeeper Kesaia Bruni posted her second career shutout, recording a clean sheet in 90 minutes played against the Trojans. Bruni saved all four of Troy's shots on goal, surpassing 30 saves this season.
Now, Southern Miss faces Louisiana in an important conference match in the West Division of the Sun Belt. Louisiana holds the same conference record (1-2-4) as Southern Miss after their scoreless result Thursday at Arkansas State.
