Johnson Takes Home 400m Title at Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trey Johnson captured his second title of the season, winning the men's 400m dash in a time of 47.86 on Saturday afternoon at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.
"Each weekend gives us a chance to better our craft and we got some good experience running against some great teams," head coach Jon Stuart said. "Trey won with his second-best time of the season, so we'll get healthy and rested going into the C-USA Championship next week."DJ Butler joined Johnson on the podium in the 400m with a time of 49.04 to earn third place.
Trinity Flagler qualified for the finals of the women's 60m dash with a time of 8.01 in the prelims but did not start in the finals.
Dylan Evans rounded out the Golden Eagle athletes competing in the meet with a time of 1:57.80 in the men's 800m.
Southern Miss turns their attention to the postseason with the C-USA Championship next weekend at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
