Track & Field Starts Season at Blazer Invite

The Golden Eagles begin the 2020 season in Birmingham, Ala.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The ladies and gentlemen of Southern Miss indoor track and field travel to Birmingham, Ala. for the Blazer Classic on Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex, hosted by UAB. It is the Golden Eagles' season opener for the 2020 indoor season.
Head Coach Jon Stuart and his staff will take 24 women and 23 men to Birmingham to compete. Along with his three full-time coaches in Aaron Kindt (Distance), Jamaal Barnes (Jumps & Multis), and Casey Fonnesbeck (Throws), two faces familiar with the program will also be joining in a volunteer capacity – Southern Miss T&F alumni John Warren '18 and Chastity Riggien-Dawdy '11.
Many of the athletes that are new to the program will be competing at the CrossPlex, as well as the seasoned veterans of the squad. A list of all who are competing and their events are as follows:

The first event will begin at 9 a.m. at the CrossPlex and the last event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Southern Miss will be competing against the men and women of Alabama, Auburn, Bethune-Cookman, FIU, Jackson State, Lipscomb, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and South Florida. Florida Atlantic, Tennessee Tech and UAB will just have their women, while Meridian CC, Middle Tennessee, and South Carolina State will just have their men's squad.
