2019 Outdoor (Senior): At the Crimson Tide Invitational he finished in first place with a triple jump of 52'10.75" ... Placed first in the triple jump at the Southern Miss Open with a distance of 53'4.25" and placed second in the long jump at 24'6.5" ... At the Conference Championships, he earned gold in the triple jump with a mark of 52'6.5" and earned silver for his long jump of 24'6.5" ... He was named the Male Field Athlete of the Meet ... Qualified for the NCAA East Regionals in both the long and triple jump, finishing fifth in the triple jupm at 52'5.5 and 27th in the long jump at 23'6.5" ... At the National Championships, on his very last jump, he went from a sixth-place finish to a fourth-place finish with a final mark of 55'0.75", a new personal-best and a new school record ... After Nationals, he was named C-USA's Male Field Athlete of the Year.
2019 Indoor (Senior): Placed first in the long jump at the Blazer Invitational with a jump of 24'1.5" ... At the Vanderbilt Invitational, he finished first in the triple jump with a new personal-best and school record jump of 55'2" ... He also jumped to a new personal-best in the long jump for fourth place at 25'0.75" ... At Kentucky's Rod McCravy Memorial meet, he finished second in the long jump ... At the Conference Championships, he finished with gold in the triple jump at a distance of 53'5.5" and with a bronze in the long jump at a distance of 24'0.75" ... He competed at the National Championships in the triple jump, finishing in sixth place overall with a mark of 53'8.5". He was named Male Field Athlete of the Meet.
2018 (Junior): Broke the indoor school record three times ... Set the current school record of 53'7" by winning the 2018 Conference USA title and also setting the Championship Meet record ... Won Indoor C-USA Men's Field Event Athlete of the Year ... Qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships and finished sixth, earning First Team All-American honors ... Broke the outdoor school record five times ... Won the Outdoor Conference USA Championship while setting the Championship Meet record of 53'10" ... Had a third-place finish in the long jump with an outdoor school record jump of 25'7" ... Finished at second-place in the triple jump at the NCAA East Regional Championship with a jump of 54'5", qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor National Championship where he finished 15th, earning Second Team All-American honors ... 2015-17 Missouri (Freshman, Sophomore): In 2015 he qualified for the NCAA West Prelim Meet and went on to the National Meet in Eugene where he was a Second Team All-American in the triple jump ... Qualified for the Pan American Junior Championships where he placed fifth in the triple jump ... Was the 2015 USATF Junior Champion in the triple jump ... In 2016 was a Second Team All-American after a 12th place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
High School: He was a three-time state champion in the triple jump throughout his high school career, winning titles in three different states: Texas (2012), Kansas (2013), and Virginia (2014) ... He was also runner-up in the triple jump in Texas (2011) and long jump in Kansas (2013) ... John is one of the top high school triple jumpers in U.S. history, holding the No. 8 mark All-Time (51-3) for the indoor triple jump ... He was the national HS leader for the indoor triple jump in 2014, and ranked No. 5 for the outdoor triple jump and No. 8 for the indoor long jump ... Fourth at the 2014 USATF Junior Championships in the triple jump, John went on to represent the U.S. at the IAAF World Junior Championships ...
