Head Cross Country Coach Aaron Kindt
"Big early season test for us this Saturday in Nashville. This field is packed with nationally and regionally ranked teams. We are going to have to compete at our very best, 1-9, to have success this weekend. Â We've had a strong first month of practice together and I like the consistency we've started to develop as team in workouts. Now we have to start translating that to races and I'm interested to see how far along we are in that process."
Last season, Southern Miss finished in eighth place at the Commodore Classic with 173 points and 10 runners competing. Sandra Szpott, Kate Mattox, Monika Gebarzewska and Lina May all finished within the top-50, with Szpott finishing in 12thplace at 17:49.4.Â
Â
On Saturday, the Golden Eagles will compete with nine returners. Set to run are Monika Gebarzewska, Theresa Harto, Emma Kate Holdbrooks, Lina May, Kate Mattox, Regen McGee, Sarah McMillon, Savannah McMillon, and Sandra Szpott.
