Outdoor Season Starts for T&F at the Jaguar Opener

Southern Miss will be part of the South Alabama meet to begin the outdoor season.
MOBILE, Ala. – The Golden Eagles of Southern Miss Track and Field begin the outdoor season at South Alabama's Jaguar Opener on Friday, March 15.
The meet will take place at South Alabama's Jaguar Track, with the first events starting at 2pm. Twelve teams are competing overall: Alabama, UAB, Belhaven, Indiana Tech, Jackson State, Mississippi Valley State, Mobile, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Spring Hill, UT-Tyler, and West Alabama. Southern Miss will get a taste of what one conference opponent has for the outdoor season with UAB also competing in the Opener.
Southern Miss saw success individually and as a team during the indoor portion of the 2019 season, and look to continue that success in the outdoor season.
As it is Go Gold Friday, the Southern Miss student-athletes will be donning their gold uniforms for the meet.
On the docket for the women's side of the meet are 13 Golden Eagles: Ola Akinniyi, Keiyana Gaskin, Jasmine Griffin, Shundoria Hardy, Taylor Harris, Callie Jones, Zaria Jones, Marquasha Myers, Grace Parker, Chenelle Ricketts, Rian Robinson, Aireanna Taylor and Kadaria Thompson. For the men, you will see Tyrese Allen, Devonta Brassell, Elijah Burton, Tamrin Hobbs, Trey Johnson, Dexter Molden, Chedlin Sagesse, Mamadou Seck, Keionis Spears, and Christian Strong.
