RUSTON, La. -Â The Southern Miss (2-25, 0-12 C-USA) women's volleyball team fell in four sets (22-25, 25-19, 22-25, 21-25) at LA Tech (13-13, 3-9 C-USA) Sunday afternoon. The contest marked the final road trip of the season for the Golden Eagles, who wrap up the regular season with two home games next weekend.Â
Tallying 11 kills each, freshmen Kess Krutsinger and Liana Guillemaud proved to be the offensive outlet for a Southern Miss team that finished the day swinging at a .166 clip. Southern Miss jumped to an 11-point lead in the first set, but LA Tech stormed back to take a late lead over the road team. The Lady Techsters closed out the set on a 14-4 run, claiming the first frame by a 25-22 score.Â
The two C-USA foes traded points throughout the second set, but an Ashley Chapman kill put the Golden Eagles up two, which is all they needed.
