Men’s Golf Places 10th at Little Rock Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Freshman Thongpipat Rattanayanon (Bangkok, Thailand) fired a final round 72 to help Southern Miss finish in 10th at the Little Rock Invitational, Tuesday, to finish the fall portion of the Golden Eagles schedule.
Southern Miss fired a team score of 299 over the final round to end the event with an 899, which was played at the par-72, 7,326-yard Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark.
Rattanayanon ended his tournament by shooting one-under par over his final seven holes to card the lowest round of the day for Southern Miss in finishing with a four-over 220 total and an 18th-place tie in the individual competition.
Junior Brice Wilkinson (Madison, Miss.) added a 78 over his first circuit to place tied for 33rd with a 224, while junior Brian Richards (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) put together a 76 in his final round for a 227 and a 50th-place tie.
The other Golden Eagle freshman in the event, Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario), shot a 74 over his final round to end with a 229 and a 57th-place tie. Senior Walker Kesterson (Hartsburg, Mo.) shot his lowest round of 77 to finish in 81st place with a 238.
Illinois State won the team title by beating Campbell in a playoff hole with a two-under par team score, each with an 872 through the first 54 holes.
Middle Tennessee (877) finished third, following by host Little Rock (880), Eastern Michigan (881), Oral Roberts and Lamar (883), Texas State (886), Stephen F. Austin (897), Southern Miss, Central Arkansas (900), Southern Illinois (903), UT Arlington (906), Missouri State (916) and Bradley (949).
The Golden Eagles return to action Feb. 10-11, when they travel to Mobile, Ala., for the Mobile Authority Sports Intercollegiate.
