Markow Leads Goat Hill Individual Through Two Rounds as Southern Miss Opens Badger Invitational in Third

MADISON, Wis. — Jake Moffitt fired a five-under 67 to help Southern Miss open the 2026 Badger Invitational in third place, while John Markow leads the Goat Hill Individual Championship through two rounds on Sunday, with both events still to be decided.

Badger Invitational, Round One

At University Ridge Golf Course, the Golden Eagles carded a seven-under first round, three strokes behind leader Green Bay (-10) and one ahead of host Wisconsin (-6). Western Kentucky sits second at eight-under.

Moffitt's five-under 67 was good for a tie for second in the individual field. He made six birdies and an eagle on the par-5 16th, against three bogeys. He played the par 5s in four-under and finished the round with a 33 on the front nine and a 34 on the back.

Benjamin Fernandez is tied for sixth after a four-under 68. He made six birdies, including a two on the par-3 eighth and another on the par-3 17th, against two bogeys. He also sits tied for second in the field on par 3s (-2). Fernandez and Moffitt are tied for fourth in the field with six birdies each.

Franco Fernandez and Supakorn Amornchaichan each shot a one-over 73 and are tied for 39th. Franco Fernandez made three birdies against four bogeys, and Amornchaichan made two birdies and 13 pars, tied for sixth-most in the field.

Matthew Javier is tied for 51st after a two-over 74. A triple-bogey 7 on the fourth hole and a 39 on the front nine put him behind, but he responded with a one-under 35 on the back, making three birdies on holes 14, 15 and 17.

Goat Hill Individual Championship, Through Two Rounds

Playing one town over at Pleasant View Golf Course in Middleton, Wis., Markow leads at nine-under 131, three strokes clear of St. Thomas' Zach Rouleau at six-under, with the final round set for Monday. He opened with a four-under 66, making six birdies against two bogeys, including a back-nine 31. He followed with a five-under 65 in the second round, which included an eagle on the 606-yard par-5 11th, four birdies and a single bogey. He has 10 birdies and an eagle through 36 holes and leads the field on par 4s (-4) and par 5s (-5).

Grayson Davis is tied for third at three-under 137 with South Dakota's Drew Larimer and Lance Hamak. Davis opened with a three-under 67 that included six birdies, two of them on the par-3 seventh and 16th, then carded an even-par 70 in the second round.

Filip Sakota is tied for sixth at one-under 139 alongside Marquette's Regan Konen. After an even-par 70 in the first round, Sakota shot a one-under 69 in the second, making four birdies, including a 2 on the par-3 13th.

Walker Wise is 24th at 10-over 150. He improved by 10 strokes from the first round to the second, going from an 80 to an even-par 70.
