Track & Field Heads to Kentucky for McCravy Memorial

The meet will take place over two days in Lexington, Ky.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Track & Field team heads to Lexington, Ky. for the McCravy Memorial at the University of Kentucky on Feb. 1 and 2 in Nutter Field House.
Golden Eagles will be competing in 13 different events. On Friday, Feb. 1, taking place will be high jump, weight throw, long jump, 200m, 600m and 5000m. All will be both men and women competing except for the 600m and 5000m, which are just women. On Saturday, Feb. 2, for day 2, Shot put, 60m semi and finals, 60m hurdles semi and finals, mile run, 400m, 3000m, and the 4x400m relays will be taking place. The shot put, mile run, and 3000m will just have women competing for the Golden Eagles. Friday's activities will begin at 4pm, and Saturday's will start at 1pm.

Going into the meet at Kentucky, there are several student-athletes for Southern Miss that are ranked nationally. For the men, McKinley West is tied for No. 20 with five others in the 60m, Caleb Parker sits at No. 14 for the 60m Hurdles, Eric Richards is No. 13 for the High Jump, John Warren is tied at No. 25 for Long Jump, Warren is No. 1 for Triple Jump. For the women, Rikianne Patterson is at No. 20 for Long Jump.
