ELMWOOD, La. – Southern Miss beach volleyball (13-18, 3-1 Sun Belt) opened the NOLA Classic with a loss to FIU (9-15, 2-1 C-USA) before wrapping up the day with a 5-0 sweep of New Orleans (11-14, 3-3 Southland).

Southern Miss concludes the regular season tomorrow with two final duals before the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Championship in Foley, Ala. Action begins at 11 a.m. against Sun Belt foe ULM and concludes with a 1:30 p.m. tilt against host (RV) Tulane.

The Panthers picked up two wins in the first wave of action thanks to hard-fought three-set flights. Lauren Coady and Elizabeth Nye put FIU on the board by holding off a comeback effort from Y-Nhu Do and Iustina Corcoz with a 15-8 third set win. Zuzanna Michalska and Abby Lewis forced a third set with a 21-14 second frame win but Nicole Robinson and Hanna Gubrik got the third set in their favor with a 16-14 third set win.

In the second wave, FIU's threes took two sets to seal the dual for the Panthers. Southern miss, however, managed to put together the final two flights in their favor. Jaden White and Margarita Grigoreva won 15-6 in the third set to break the shutout before Laurel Dennis and Sadie McAda sealed a tow-set victory at the top flight.

Playing back-to-back duals, the Golden Eagles took to the sand against New Orleans. Corcoz, now paired with Izzy Beech at the fourth flight, opened things with a two-set victory.

Michalska and Lewis ground out a three-set win to set things at 2-0 ahead of the second wave of flights. Kitija Martini Adamsone and Giovanna Gurgel Bahia rolled to a two-set win to clinch the overall dual for Southern Miss.

White and Grigoreva made it 4-0 with a two-set win at the fifth pairing and Dennis and McAda capped off their undefeated day with another 2-0 win.
