Southern Miss Beach Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Southern Miss Beach Volleyball earned 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award honors as announced by the AVCA today. The Team Academic Award recognizes high school, two-year, four-year indoor and beach volleyball programs that maintain at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale in the academic year.
The award marks the fifth time Southern Miss has been honored with the award and fourth time in the last five seasons. The Golden Eagles are one of five Sun Belt Conference programs to earn the honor and one of 40 collegiate beach programs on the 2026 Team Academic Award lists.
Southern Miss picks up Team Academic Award honors in back-to-back seasons for the second time in school history with the 2021-22 and 2022-23 squads also posting back-to-back honors.
In 2025-26, 17 Golden Eagles maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.69 on a 4.0 scale. Three student-athletes maintained 4.0 GPAs with 11 others holding at least a 3.50 GPA.
