Track and Field Tallies Five Podium Finishes at Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Southern Miss Track and Field recorded five podium finishes and multiple top-eight finishes at the Crimson Tide Invitational on Friday in Tuscaloosa.

Kennedi Sanders led the way with a third-place finish in the 400 meters (53.12), while Addison McLaurin followed in fifth (54.56). Sanders also ran a leg on the third-place 4x400-meter relay team alongside Valencia Watson, McLaurin and Taliyah Lindsay, combining for a time of 3:42.01. In distance events, Emme Bates placed third in the 1500 meters (4:20.72), with Cadence Lapp taking seventh (4:29.74). Corinne Croy (17:11.59) and Lexi Cooper (17:34.74) added fifth- and seventh-place finishes in the 5000 meters, respectively. The 4x100-meter relay team of Watson, McLaurin, K. Sanders and Lindsay also earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 45.86.

On the men's side, Javel Fullerton recorded a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.93, while DeAundre Ward placed second in the long jump with a mark of 7.25 meters. The 4x100-meter relay team of Nikoby Johnson, Kingsley. Unorji, Mike Jones and Valentino Rudolph finished fourth (40.63), and Ryan DeBarber added a fourth-place showing in the javelin throw (63.61m). In the 4x400 meter-relay, Fullerton, Rudolph, Saxon Brown, and Jacoby Tanner earn a fourth place finish with a time of 3:11.56. Additional top-eight finishes came from Quamarion Oatis in the hammer throw (sixth, 58.19m), Conner Mozee in the discus (seventh, 53.57m) and Isaiah Lowrey in the triple jump (eighth, 14.03m).
