Women’s Tennis Match against New Orleans Canceled due to Rain

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's tennis' scheduled home match against New Orleans on Wednesday afternoon at the USM Tennis Complex was canceled due to rain. The Golden Eagles entered the day at 7-7 overall and 1-2 in Sun Belt play, with the match set to open a brief late-season homestand in Hattiesburg.
The match would have marked Southern Miss' first time back at home since March 7 after a long stretch away from Hattiesburg. During that run, the Golden Eagles picked up a 4-0 road win over Southern and most recently fell 4-1 at Troy, where Miranda Xu earned the team's lone point with a straight-set win at No. 4 singles.
Wednesday's cancellation leaves Southern Miss with one remaining home match on the regular-season schedule. The Golden Eagles are next scheduled to host Tulane on Tuesday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at the USM Tennis Complex.
