Golden Eagles End Regular Season with Final Round of the ULM Invitational

MONROE, La. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team finished tied for ninth at the ULM Invitational to wrap up the regular season.
Louise Cuyvers posted another even-par 72 to bring her tournament total to 216 strokes, which was good for eighth place. Taylor Trible went two-over today, recording a 74 that featured a pair of birdies on the back nine. Trible finished in a tie for 21st to join Cuyvers in the top 25. Fernanda Gorostiaga fired a five-over 77, and Savannah Van Gaalen had a six-over 78 — both golfers eagled the par-five hole 14.
Alma Betoret and Liv Romer both shot an eight-over 80. ULM ran away with the team title, shooting 10-under par in its final round to beat Samford by 15 strokes. Houston Christian, Troy, and UT Arlington rounded out the top five with ULM and Samford. Gabi Nicastro of Samford went 10-under par to win the individual title, while Cuyvers was one of eight golfers to not go over par this week.

Southern Miss will tee off at the Sun Belt Women's Golf Championship on April 20. The four-day event is being played at The Lakewood Club in Point Clear, Ala. The Golden Eagles won the tournament last season en route to qualifying for the first NCAA Tournament in program history.
