Track and Field Laces Up for Jaguar Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Track and Field prepares to head off to Birmingham, Alabama to compete at South Alabama's Jaguar Invitational. The meet will take place at the Birmingham Crossplex on Sunday.
Last time out, Emme Bates broke her second program record this season with her performance in the mile at the Arkansas Invitational with a time of 4:43.31. The men earned four wins through performances led by Tyler Nichols breaking the program record in the long jump with a mark of 7.84 meters. Valentino Rudolph earned his win in the 200 meters (20.94), Piers Cameron in the shot put (19.07m) and Maximus Littleton in the high jump (2.10m).
The Golden Eagles will head to Birmingham with 45 total athletes, 25 women and 20 men. The meet consists of 18 other teams alongside Southern Miss, including Sun Belt opponent Georgia State and host institution South Alabama.
The meet will kick off with the men and women's mile at 1:15 p.m., while the men's 4x400 relay will be the final event of the meet at 4:30 p.m., respectively. Live results for the meet will be available at https://live.xpresstiming.com/meets/60616.
