Singleton, Ward Headed to NCAA Championships in Eugene

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's track and field team is sending Kelsey Singleton and De'Aundre Ward to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held June 11–14 in Eugene, Oregon.
Both athletes will compete Wednesday, with Ward participating in the long jump final at 7:40 p.m. CDT and Singleton running in the 400-meter semifinals at 7:41 p.m. CDT. If Singleton advances, he will race in the 400-meter final on Friday, June 13, at 8:02 p.m. CDT.
Ward secured his spot with a second-place finish at the NCAA East Regional, posting a jump of 7.75 meters. Singleton qualified for Eugene with a school-record time of 45.66 seconds in the 400 meters.
"This is what we work for all year, and it adds a little pressure too," said Southern Miss track and field coach Jon Stuart. "Kelsey and De'Aundre have been outstanding all year, and I know they're up to the challenge."
Singleton's semifinal race will be available on ESPN, with Friday's final airing on ESPN2 if he advances. All field events throughout the week will stream live on ESPN+.
