Women's Tennis Travels to Arkansas State for Final Road Match of Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's tennis (4-12, 0-9 Sun Belt) hits the road for its final away match of the season, traveling to Jonesboro, Ark., to face Arkansas State (11-9, 4-5 Sun Belt) on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The Golden Eagles are looking to bounce back against the Red Wolves following a 4-0 setback against South Alabama last weekend.
Arkansas State is coming off of two series losses this past weekend against Troy and Georgia State. The Red Wolves are led by Loles Carbo Chova with a record of 14-1, followed by Carla Muro Castellvi and Lilly Cvanciger with ten wins each in singles competition.
Arkansas State's doubles teams are Lilly Cvanciger and Abigail Thurner and Hanmare McAslin and Sarah Millard with nine wins on the season.
The Golden Eagles are led in doubles by the pair of Miranda Xu and Sakura Sudo, who have posted a 7-3 record this season. Xu also leads Southern Miss witha 6-2 record in singles competition.
The last meeting between the two programs came in the Sun Belt Championships, where Southern Miss edged past Arkansas State in a 4-3 upset to advance to the second round.
Following Saturday's match, Southern Miss will host ULM for the regular season finale back in Hattiesburg on April 19.
