
Beach Volleyball Travels to Atlanta for Georgia State’s Day of Duals

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss (2-7) heads to Atlanta, Ga., the play in the Georgia State Day of Duals. The Golden Eagles will take on Sun Belt Conference members No. 18 Georgia State (3-5) and College of Charleston (3-3) as well as Tennessee Tech (2-2) on Wednesday, March 5.

Southern Miss' day in Atlanta begins against Sun Belt Conference Preseason favorite Georgia State. The Panthers finished last week 1-3 at the Seminole Beach Bash in Tallahassee, Fla., defeating Houston Christian but suffering setbacks to Cal State Bakersfield and twice to Florida State.
Georgia State is led by 10th-year head coach Beth Van Fleet, who holds a 205-112 overall record leading the Panthers. The team was selected as the preseason Sun Belt Conference favorite, garnering six first place votes.

Sandy Cougar head coach Damian Elder is in his third season in Charleston and owns a 33-34 record with the program. His career record is 58-59 including his two seasons at Mercer. College of Charleston was picked to finish fifth in the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Poll.
