Golden Eagles Head to ULM Invitational for Regular Season Finale

HATTIESBURG, Miss. --Â The Golden Eagles travel to Monroe, La. For the ULM Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The women's golf team will play the two-day event at Bayou Desiard Country Club along with the 10-team field.Â
The full field includes UT Arlington, Arkansas Monticello, Samford, East Texas A&M, Oral Roberts, Little Rock, Central Arkansas, Troy, ULM and Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles are the second-highest ranked team in the field at No. 109, while host ULM is ranked No. 77 in the country.Â
Southern Miss is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Bama Beach Bash where Momoka Ando and Louise Cuyvers netted top-10 finishes. Ando leads the Golden Eagles in strokes per round this season as the senior averages 74.9 in competition. Elena Melich is second on the team at 75.4 strokes per round, while Cuyvers averages 75.5 per round.Â
The Golden Eagles will have tabbed the following to their team lineup: Taylor Trible, Alma Betoret, Ando, Cuyvers and Melich. Fernanda Gorostiaga will participate as an individual. Southern Miss finished in fourth at the ULM Invitational last season as ULM finished in third. Melich and Ando both notched top-20 finishes.
