HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss baseball team takes to the road to face Sun Belt Conference foe ULM in a three-game weekend series, starting Friday in Monroe with a 6 p.m., contest at Lou St. Amant Field.

Â
The Golden Eagles (15-6 overall, 2-1 Sun Belt) enter the weekend having won six of their last seven contests, including a 6-2 decision over Ole Miss Tuesday night at Trustmark Park in Pearl. They play a ULM team that holds a 9-11 overall mark, including a 1-2 record in league play after dropping two of three at James Madison last weekend.

Their pitching staff also has posted a 3.89 earned run average with 197 strikeouts and just 68 walks in 185 innings this spring.

Â
With his three-run homer versus Ole Miss on Tuesday, Davis Gillespie now is tied for the team lead in home runs with Carson Paetow at six, while also retaking the team's RBI lead with 22.
Â
Golden Eagle starters also continue to pitch well as they have racked up a combined 9-4 record with a 2.66 ERA over 98 innings, which includes 101 strikeouts and only 26 walks.
