Women's Tennis Falls at UNO

NEW ORLEANS, La.-The Southern Miss women's tennis team (2-1, 0-0 Sun Belt) dropped its first road match of the season 4-2 against the University of New Orleans Saturday morning.

The Golden Eagles started strong in doubles play, with the duo of Hannah Chambers and Angelina Blinova earning a 7-5 victory, while Miranda Xu and Sakura Sudo picked up a 6-4 win to earn a point. The Golden Eagles have won doubles competition in all three matches so far this season.

In singles, Miranda Xu earned the team's lone victory in singles with a straight-set win on court three. Sakura Sudo forced Nouray Khaled to a closely fought third-set tiebreaker, but fell just short of picking up a point as Khaled fired four consecutive points to clinch the Privateers' victory.
