Cross Country Finishes Second at Sun Belt Championships

FOLEY, Ala. – Southern Miss cross country earned an impressive runner-up finish at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships on Thursday morning, scoring 88 points to take second place in the team standings.
Emme Bates led the Golden Eagles with a personal-best time of 17:21.90 to finish sixth overall. Cadence Lapp followed close behind in 12th, also setting a personal record with a time of 17:42.80 to strengthen Southern Miss' front pack.
Lexi Cooper and Maria Kaylor finished in 21st and 24th with times of 17:55.90 and 17:58.90, while Addison Rainey rounded out the team's top five in 25th at 18:00.10.
Alexane Hunte (18:08.10), Indy Grajalez (18:18.20), and Corinne Croy (18:29.50) also turned in strong efforts, with Hunte and Grajalez both recording personal bests.
