HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss women's golf will tee off at a familiar course this week as it plays host to The Judson at Hattiesburg Country Club. The two-day event begins Monday morning and will finish on Tuesday afternoon.Â
Hattiesburg Country Club is set to play as a par-72, 6,284-yard track. Monday will feature 36 consecutive holes over two rounds, while Tuesday's final round will end with a team and individual champion. Both days will start at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start off each hole. The 11-team field includes Austin Peay, North Alabama, Belmont, West Georgia, Tulane, Lamar, Mississippi College, Central Arkansas, Alabama State, Samford, and Southern Miss.
The Golden Eagles have tabbed the following golfers to their lineup: Louise Cuyvers, Taylor Trible, Morgan Guepet, Savannah Van Gaalen, and Liv Romer. Fernanda Gorostiaga and Ava Kight will play as individuals. The field will tee off at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.Â
Southern Miss won the 2024 edition of The Judson, which was the first win as a Golden Eagle for head coach Colton Cowan. Central Arkansas returns to the field this year after winning the event in 2023. Trible finished in second last year on the individual side of the event and Cuyvers finished in a tie for fourth.Â
The Judson is named in honor of Jim and Beth Judson, parents of former student-athlete Lauren Judson. Jim and Beth tragically passed away in a fatal plane crash on their way home from Memphis, Tenn., where Lauren had just competed with Southern Miss.Â
