Women's Golf Climbs Leaderboard in Final Round at The Ally

WEST POINT, Miss. -- Louise Cuyvers vaulted up the individual leaderboard on Wednesday afternoon as the sophomore shot a two-under 70 during the final round of The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Course. Southern Miss finished in eighth as a team in the 15-team field.Â
Cuyvers played near-perfect golf on the front nine, with the lone blemish being a bogey on the second hole. The Belgian carded four birdies on the front and added one more on the back nine — she finished with 11 for the three-day event as she finished in 16th. Morgan Guepet finished in 43rd as she fired a three-over 75 that included three bogeys. Savannah Van Gaalen and Taylor Trible both shot a three-over 75 as well, with Van Gaalen finishing in 55th. Trible finished in 67th as she climbed up four spots on the leaderboard. Liv Romer came into the clubhouse with a seven-over 79.Â
Thirteenth-ranked Florida won the team title, finishing the event 26-under par, while No. 8 Arkansas finished 23-under par. Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State rounded out the top five. Sun Belt foe ULM finished in seventh, while Troy and Georgia Southern finished in 14th and 15th, respectively. Arkansas swept the top-three individual spots, with Reagan Zibilski winning the event at 10-under par.Â

Southern Miss will host The Judson at Hattiesburg Country Club on October 27 and 28. The event is free to the public and will feature 36 holes of action on Monday, with 18 holes wrapping the event up on Friday.Â
