
Track and Field Notches Eight Top Three Finishes at Vanderbilt Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Southern Miss outdoor track and field men's and women's squads captured a cumulative eight top-three finishes, with Kelsey Singleton earning first in the men's 200-meter and 400-meter races.
The Golden Eagle women earned two top-three finishes over the course of the weekend. Za'Isha Fraser earned a second-place finish in the triple jump with a 12.54-meter jump. The women's 400-meter relay team earned a third-place finish with efforts from Trinity Flagler, Jaellene Burgess, Addison McLaurin, and Taliyah Lindsay, finishing with a time of 3:41.49. The women recorded 10 top-eight finishes, scoring in nine different events over the final day of the meet.
On the men's side, Zayne Palomino (high jump open, 2.16 meters), Tyler Nichols (long jump seeded, 7.73 meters), and Tyler Hughes (long jump unseeded, 7.32 meters) each earned second-place finishes for the Golden Eagles. The men recorded 14 top-eight finishes in nine different events.
