
Women's Golf Prepped for Final Regular Season Tournament

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – A final test awaits Southern Miss women's golf ahead of the Sun Belt Championships as it travels to Macon, Ga. for the Brickyard Collegiate. The two-day event hosted by Mercer will be played at Brickyard Golf Club.
Monday's opening round at the 6,171-yard track gets underway at 8 a.m. CST with a shotgun start and will roll into the second round that afternoon. The third round will start on Tuesday with another 8 a.m. CST shotgun start. The Golden Eagles will be paired with Mercer and Central Arkansas for the first two rounds.
The full nine-team field includes Mercer, UAB, Belmont, Central Arkansas, North Alabama, Seminole State, Southern Illinois, Southern Miss and UNC Asheville. Southern Miss' team scores will include Momoka Ando, Taylor Trible, Alma Betoret, Elena Melich and Jacee Fields. Its two individuals playing will be Ragini Navet and Merche Corbacho.
Southern Miss is coming off a fourth-place finish at the ULM Invitational where Fields placed fifth after shooting three-under par for the tournament. Momoka Ando set the low individual stroke average record for the Golden Eagles last season after averaging 73.6 strokes per round and is on pace to shatter that mark. The Tokyo, Japan native is averaging 72.3 strokes per round through 24 rounds of golf this season.
