Beach Volleyball Completes Opening Day of Beach Invitational

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Southern Miss beach volleyball fell in two matches as part of the first day of action at Long Beach State's Beach Invitational. The Golden Eagles were swept by No. 9 Long Beach State and No. 6 Loyola Marymount and continue play tomorrow against Santa Clara.
Southern Miss (4-6, 1-0 Sun Belt) suffered its first winless day of the year after being swept twice in its first matches in California. The Golden Eagles fell 5-0 to both Long Beach State and Loyola Marymount and were unable to take a set on the day.
The Golden Eagles are back in action tomorrow at noon CT (10 a.m. PT) against Santa Clara and close the Beach Invitational against No. 11 Cal Poly at 3 p.m. CT (1 p.m. PT).
