Beach Volleyball Heads West for Beach Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The third weekend of competition of the 2024 season takes the Golden Eagles to Long Beach, Calif., for two days and four matches at Long Beach State's Beach Invitational. Southern Miss opens play at Noon CT (10 a.m. PT) against No. 9 Long Beach State on Saturday, March 9.
THE WEEKEND SLATE
Southern Miss (4-4, 1-0 Sun Belt) opens play against homestanding and nationally-ranked Long Beach State. The Beach are 4-2 and hold the ninth overall spot in the AVCA's most recent poll. Southern Miss is 0-2 all-time against the Beach, last playing LBSU in 2022.
Saturday's action continues against No. 6 Loyola Marymount. The Pride are 5-4 on the year and are fresh off a 3-1 weekend at the Battle for LA. Match time between LMU and Southern Miss is set for 3 p.m. CT (1 p.m. PT).
On Sunday, the Golden Eagles start at noon CT (10 a.m. PT) once again against Santa Clara and wrap up play against No. 11 Cal Poly at 3 p.m. CT. The Broncos from Santa Clara are 1-3 on the year and the Mustangs of Cal Poly are 6-2.
