PENSACOLA, Fla. – Southern Miss (16-15, 9-9 Sun Belt) men's basketball returns to Pensacola for the 2024 Hercules Tire Sun Belt Conference at the Pensacola Bay Center. The sixth-seeded Golden Eagles will take on No. 11 Texas State (15-17, 7-11 Sun Belt) at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

KEY GOLDEN EAGLE STORYLINES
- Andre Curbelo scored a career-high 25 points on the road at South Alabama on Feb. 28
- Victor Iwuakor produced his fifth double-double this season in the home finale against Louisiana on Feb. 24
- Victor Hart returned to the starting lineup against South Alabama on Feb. 22 and produced a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double
- Curbelo returned from injury against Texas State and scored 24 points on 8-of-9 shooting
- Austin Crowley became the first Golden Eagle in 10 years to record a double-double in three consecutive games after going for 22 points and 10 rebounds against ULM

- Sophomore Jordan Mason has taken over the scoring load with 12.6 points per game. Davion Sykes has since led Texas State in rebounding at 7.3 boards per game
- Freshman Kaden Gumbs is averaging 3.5 assists per game and dished out a career-high eight dimes against UT Arlington
- Texas State has won its last four games, including a pair of overtime games, after it went on a four- game losing skid before its current streak
