Isaac Taveras Tabbed Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year by Blue Ribbon

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's basketball team enjoyed some recent accolades by having one its players picked as the preseason Sun Belt Player of the Year by Blue Ribbon Magazine, while the Golden Eagles were picked to finish fourth in the league.
Senior Isaac Taveras (Santo Domingo, Dominic Republic) earned his preseason Player of the Year distinction by averaging 15.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest for the Golden Eagles last season as he converted 51.5 percent of his shots (136-of-264) from the floor. He also added 2.3 assists per contest.
Joining Taveras on the preseason Blue Ribbon All-Sun Belt team were Peyton Law of South Alabama, Adonte' Holiman of Old Dominion, Tameron Ferguson of Arkansas State and Jamyron Keller of Louisiana.
The Golden Eagles were picked behind Arkansas State, James Madison and Troy in the Sun Belt preseason rankings.
