
Trible and Navet Shoot Under Par to Close The Ally

WEST POINT, Miss. --Â Taylor Trible enjoyed a career day during the final round of The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point. Meanwhile, Southern Miss finished in ninth after going 33-over par as a team.Â
Trible shot a career-low three-under 69 on Wednesday that surged her into a tie for 19th. The Birmingham, Ala. native drained four birdie putts on the day and only had one bogey on her scorecard. Her 217 tournament total was the lowest 54-hole total she has recorded as a Golden Eagle, besting her previous career low of 219.
Ragini Navet's one-under 71 marked the second round of golf in which the sophomore shot below par for the tournament. Playing as an individual, she secured the best finish of her career after claiming seventh place at The Ally. Her 54-hole total also bested her previous career low of 219 at The Judson last season.Â
Elena Melich and Momoka Ando both fired a two-over 74 today, while Melich's round slotted her in a tie for 36th — Ando finished in a tie for 52nd. An eagle on hole two helped freshman Louise Cuyvers to a one-over 73 today.Â
Florida won the event after going 15-under par, while Mississippi State and Vanderbilt joined the Gators in shooting under par. Mississippi State's Avery Weed won the individual title after going nine-under for the tournament. Navet finished six strokes behind the Bulldog golfer.Â
Southern Miss now turns its attention to The Judson at Hattiesburg Country Club. The Golden Eagles will host the event for the third consecutive season and will kick off on Oct. 28.Â
