Women's Golf Settles in Northern Mississippi for The Ally

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team made one of their shorter trips of the season today as they traveled up to West Point for The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Course. The three-day event is being hosted by Mississippi State and will feature 18 holes of stroke play each day.

The field includes Vanderbilt, Indiana, Florida, Mercer, Old Dominion, UAB, Western Kentucky, Troy, Wisconsin, James Madison, ULM, Auburn, Mississippi State, Jacksonville State, Sam Houston State, and the Golden Eagles. The course is set to play as a par-72, 6,316-yard track.

The Golden Eagles have tabbed the following five to their starting lineup: Elena Melich, Louise Cuyvers, Momoka Ando, Taylor Trible, and Jacee Fields. Ragini Navet will be playing as an individual. Fields will be the first Southern Miss golfer to tee off tomorrow as she starts at 8:30 a.m. CT on the 10^th hole.

Southern Miss appeared in The Ally last season, while Ando claimed a top 20 finish. Other Sun Belt schools in the tournament this week include Troy, James Madison, ULM, and Old Dominion.
