Cross Country Concludes 35th Annual Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.-- The Southern Miss Cross Country team kicked off their weekend by participating in the annual Chile Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas. In the 5K race, a lone Golden Eagle achieved an impressive top-10 finish.

Sophomore Isabela Ross continued her strong performance this season by securing her third top-10 finish for the Black and Gold. Hailing from Oak Creek, Wis., she completed the race in ninth place at 17:14.00.

Returner Sarah Parnell claimed the 87th spot, clocking in at 18:43.70, while newcomer Kristina Stojanovic crossed the finish line in 135th place with a time of 19:08.90.

Brynn Kelso posted a time of 19:41.50, earning her 196th place, and Kendall Drisko (20:33.70) and Sylvia White (21:34.00) rounded out the competition for the Golden Eagles, finishing in 250th and 277th place, respectively.

Next up: The squad will take two weeks off before competing in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 13 to compete in the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama, serving as their final race before the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
