Women’s Tennis Set to Play Host to Jackson State Thursday Afternoon

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's tennis team entertains Jackson State Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. for a rescheduled match at the Southern Miss Tennis Courts.
Inclement weather postponed the original date of Jan. 21 for this matchup between the two schools.
The Golden Eagles (3-2) look to extend their winning streak to two matches following a 7-0 sweep of Nicholls last Saturday in Thibodaux, La. They captured all six singles matches, five of which were in straight sets.
The JSU meeting marks the 13th meeting between the two schools in women's tennis since 2010 with the Golden Eagles holding a 12-0 advantage, including a 4-1 decision here last season.
Golden Eagle Clara Tardivel (Asnières-sur-Oise, France) has won all three of her matches for Southern Miss this spring, while Maddison Ricardo (Gold Coast, Australia) has the most singles wins of any Golden Eagle this spring with four.
Following the JSU match, Southern Miss returns to action Sunday, March 5, when they play host to New Orleans. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
