Lady Eagles Set for Rematch Against Texas State

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's basketball looks to even the season series against Texas State tomorrow, Feb. 9 at Reed Green Coliseum. Tipoff for the second game between the two squads is set for 5 p.m. tomorrow.
Last Time Out
The Lady Eagles moved to 8-4 in Sun Belt play and 15-8 overall after a 21-point victory over South Alabama. Jacorriah Bracey (Drew, Miss. // Ole Miss) recorded her first career double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds against the Jaguars.
Notably, Domonique Davis (DeRidder, La. // LSU) and Lani Cornfield (Gowanda, N.Y. // Northwest Florida State) did not suit up for the game to rest in preparation of the final three weeks of conference play.
The Texas State Series
Southern Miss and Texas State squared off for the first time two weeks ago in San Marcos. Texas State won 62-52 in overtime, which is impressive since the Lady Eagles committed 28 turnovers in the game.
Davis left the game with an injury after the first quarter, leaving Femi Funeus (Plantation, Fla. // Seton Hall) and Lani Cornfield to shoulder the scoring load, each dropping 14 points.
The Lady Eagles exhausted all their efforts to force overtime, leaving Texas State to run away with the extra five minutes by a 14-4 margin.
