Cross Country Continues Post Season Stride at the NCAA Division I South Regional

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-- Cross Country is on the road to Gainesville, Fla., for the NCAA Division I South Regionals. The University of Florida will be hosting the 6000-meter run on Friday morning.
Last time out
Isabela Ross excelled in the SBC Cross Country Championships at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve on Oct. 28. Ross achieved a 5th-place finish with a time of 17:21.40, earning herself first-team all-conference recognition. Following her, transfer student Kendall Drisko finished 28th with a time of 18:46.90. At the same time, returner Sarah Parnell secured 42nd place, closely trailed by Kristina Stojanovic, who claimed the 44th position with a time of 19:16.70, just two seconds behind. Newcomers Brynn Kelso and Sylvia White claimed the 47th and 93rd positions, recording times of 19:29.10 and 23:11.00. The overall performance led the Southern Miss team to a seventh-place team finish, amassing 166 points and showcasing an average time of 18:49.76.

The Southern Miss women's cross country team finished 8th place in the 6000-meter run, marking the best performance in program history. Notably, Isabela Ross set a new school record, surpassing the previous record set by Janet Rono in 2001 at the C-USA Cross Country Championships. Ross clocked in at 20:03.3 for 15th place, earning All-Regional honors.
