Cross Country Closes the Post Season in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla.--The Southern Miss Cross Country team concluded its post-season at the NCAA Division I South Regional hosted by the University of Florida on Friday morning.
"I am proud of the team's performance against some of the nation's top programs," said Coach Nick Gibson. "We have learned valuable lessons throughout the season and are looking ahead; I have a lot of confidence in the team's readiness to excel in the upcoming year."
In the 6000-meter race, transfer Kendall Drisko led the Black and Gold, securing a 142nd-place finish with a time of 21:29.50. Returner Sarah Parnell achieved a personal best with a time of 21:50.60, securing 160th place. Newcomers Kristina Stojanovic (22:47.20) and Brynn Kelso (22:52.70) rounded out the competition, finishing in 184th and 188th place.
The team is now gearing up for the indoor track and field season.Â
