Cross Country Heads to Foley for Sun Belt Conference Championships

HATTIESBURG, Miss.--The Southern Miss cross country team is set to participate in the Sun Belt Conference Championships at the Graham Creek Cross Country Course in Foley, Ala.
"I am looking forward to seeing how we perform on Saturday. We made such an impact last year, and I know the girls are excited to hit the course", said Coach Gibson.
Last time out
The Cross-Country team wrapped up their regular season at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Sophomore Isabela Ross continued her impressive form, achieving a top-10 finish in the 5.846-meter run, marking her fourth such achievement of the season. She completed the race in 20:19.20, securing the 8th position and improving her time by three seconds compared to the previous year.
Following Ross, junior Sarah Parnell finished in 117th place with a time of 22:15.50, while newcomer Kristina Stojanovic came in 120th with a time of 22:17.50. Graduate transfer Kendall Drisko posted a time of 22:31.50, placing 137th. Freshmen Brynn Kelso and Sylvia White claimed the 152nd and 216th positions, respectively, with times of 22:47.80 and 26:10.80.

Reflecting on their first year in the Sun Belt, the team had a remarkable achievement, securing their inaugural conference title with four runners earning All-Conference honors.
The teams are scheduled to toe the line at 10:02 a.m. at the Graham Creek Cross Country Course in Foley, Ala., with live results and streaming options available for spectators.
