Golden Eagles on the Road to Birmingham for 2023 Season Debut

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-- The Southern Miss track and field team opens their 2023 season tomorrow at the Blazer Invitational hosted by UAB at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The men's shot put and high jump will kick off the meet at 10 a.m., followed by the 60m to start the running events at noon.
"I'm excited to get the season underway. We have a good mix of veterans and newcomers on our roster. The sprinters and jumpers have been putting in the work, as well as our distance crew, with their exceptional performance during the cross-country season. We've been training hard. Now it's time to see what we have," said head coach Jon Stuart.
There will be 38 student-athletes traveling to Birmingham overall, including 12 debuts for the Black & Gold.
