Women's Tennis Captures Road Win at Alabama State

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Southern Miss women's tennis team notched its 13th win of the season on Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 shutout against Alabama State in Montgomery.
The Golden Eagles (13-3, 2-1 C-USA) got off to a quick start in doubles play when Suhana Das and Clara Tardivel cruised to a 6-2 win at the second doubles position. Ebru Zeynep Yazgan and Alyssa Richter followed suit with a 6-2 win of their own to secure the doubles point for the Black and Gold. Yazgan and Richter pushed their record to 10-2, while Das and Tardivel moved to 10-4.
Monique Burton added a singles win at the third position via a 7-5, 6-0 win to record seventh win of the season. Tardivel extended her winning streak to nine matches with a 6-4,6-0 win against Timothee Legaud at the fifth singles position. The sophomore is now 9-0 on the season. Das picked up her eighth win of the season with a 6-3, 6-0 win at the fourth position.
Southern Miss has now won five of its last six matches and will head to New Orleans on April 13 to close out the regular season.
