Chambers Named to 2026 All-Sun Belt Community Service Team

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's tennis graduate Hannah Chambers was named to the 2026 All-Sun Belt Community Service Team. The honor recognizes student-athletes from across the Sun Belt for their commitment to service, leadership and involvement within their respective communities.
Chambers logged 13 individual service hours while contributing to 73 team service hours during the academic year. Her work included involvement with Hub City, the Edwards Street Food Drive, Trick or Treat at the Pete, Seymour's Closet and Healthy Kids Day. As President of Southern Miss' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Chambers also helped lead and organize service initiatives involving Golden Eagle student-athletes throughout the year.
Her leadership extended across the athletics department as Chambers spearheaded the planning and execution of the 2026 Talon Awards, Southern Miss' annual event recognizing the accomplishments of its student-athletes. The role added to a collegiate career in which the Barbados native has remained involved beyond the tennis court while representing Southern Miss in athletics, academics and campus leadership.
On the court, Chambers remained a fixture in the Golden Eagles' doubles lineup during the 2026 season. Partnering with Miranda Xu, she helped Southern Miss secure the doubles point in the program's first-ever victory over Tulane and later picked up a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles in the Sun Belt Championship against App State. The duo also contributed doubles victories during wins over Jackson State and Southern earlier in the spring.
Before arriving in Hattiesburg, Chambers competed internationally out of Barbados and was selected to the Regional 16 & Under ITF/COTECC team. She also captured junior titles at the J5 Villa and J5 Castries tournaments before beginning her Southern Miss career in 2022-23.
