Southern Miss Women’s Tennis Completes Undefeated Home Slate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's tennis team wrapped up a perfect 8-0 home record, defeating Alcorn State, 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the Southern Miss tennis complex. It marks the 31st-straight home win and the fourth-straight season without a blemish at home.
The Golden Eagles (11-2) dominated the match, taking control in the doubles portion, with a clean 6-0 sweep in the No. 3 position by freshmen Alyssa Richter and Maddison Ricardo. The Black & Gold picked up 6-2 victories on court one from Sarah Medik and Monique Burton, while Suhaha Das and Clara Tardivel also won 6-2 on court two.
Tardivel carried the momentum from the doubles match into singles play, defeating her opponent in straight sets without dropping a game on court four, while Richter dropped just one game on court five with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
The Golden Eagles clinched the match on court five with a 6-1, 6-3 win by Ricardo as she improved to 4-0 on the season in singles action.
